Klarida Hoxha

“Nursing Management of Hard to Heal Diabetic Foot Ulcers Treated by Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy”

Klarida has been a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Tissue Viability for over ten years. She has managed the "Difficult Wound" care centre at the Ravenna Hyperbaric Centre. She is an expert in hyperbaric chamber assistance and various offshore experiences.

She has a strong academic background and has been on several writing committees on various Italian national guidelines. She also contributes at an international level, as with the TIMERS approach to hard-to-heal wounds (Tissue, Inflammation/Infection, Moisture balance, wound Edge, Regeneration of tissue and Social factors)

She sits on the AIUC (Italian Skin Ulcer Association) board of directors. She is actively involved in training courses for all healthcare professionals on the topic of management of patients suffering from chronic skin lesions of various aetiologies (vascular, pressure, rheumatic/neoplastic, diabetic foot ulcers), management of diagnosis and treatment and use of various bandages.
